Leadership Development Teams (LDTs)

Leadership Development Teams (LDTs)

Leadership Development Teams (LDTs) are the foundation of the 100K Georgians Campaign. These teams cultivate local leadership and build networks of community members working toward climate justice across the state.

The goal is to develop teams in eleven counties across Georgia:

  • Fulton
  • DeKalb
  • Clayton
  • Gwinnett
  • Bibb
  • Muscogee
  • Dougherty
  • Lowndes
  • Chatham
  • Richmond
  • Whitfield

We are currently building teams in several communities, including:

  • Macon (Bibb County)
  • Savannah (Chatham County)
  • Augusta (Richmond County)
  • Albany (Dougherty County)

As we continue growing, additional teams will be developed across Georgia to strengthen leadership and expand organizing efforts.

Our Leadership Approach

Our leadership development approach is rooted in relational organizing and community trust. We recognize that leadership takes many forms. Strong movements grow through relationships, shared learning, and collective action.

By supporting local leaders and strengthening community networks, the campaign helps ensure that frontline communities are not only included in conversations about climate solutions—but are helping lead them.

How the Work Is Growing

Leadership teams are currently being developed across several communities in Georgia. As these teams continue to grow, additional opportunities for engagement will emerge both locally and statewide.

Once the infrastructure is fully established, there will be many ways for people to participate in organizing efforts, leadership development, and climate justice work.

Updates and opportunities to get involved will be shared through Sustainable Georgia Futures’ website and social media channels.
